FAQ
Is it possible to learn coding online?
Yes, by enrolling in our robotics and coding classes, kids of age 5 and above are building their own projects with the help of specialised student success mentors. Our learning platform has a simple interface, easy for children to navigate and learn. The learning modules are also designed to allow them to learn at their own pace. However, we do recommend that parents spend time with their children (which we fondly call “bonding over coding”), especially when the child is between 5 and 9 years old.
Is math necessary for learning coding?
For ease of building projects, children enrolled in our coding for kids classes use built-in functions and libraries to create the algorithms. Hence, one doesn’t necessarily need to be good at maths. But it definitely helps to know the basic mathematical operations.
What kind of computer system or laptop is required for coding?
A good laptop or computer with Intel Core i3 (or above) processor operating on Windows 7 (or above) is enough. The system should have at least a 4GB RAM and 256GB drive. A good internet connection with a video camera and mic are essential for the online coding and robotics classes for kids.
How often are the sessions for the online robotics and coding classes for kids conducted?
Our robotics and coding classes for kids are conducted 2 days a week and each session is 60 minutes long. The first session is Mentor-led (ML), where a dedicated Student Success Mentor (SSM) from D.I.Y.A will help your child code. The second session is self-paced (SP), where your child will refer to the learning resources on D.I.Y.A’s Learning Management System (LMS), allowing your child to develop projects at their own pace and time of convenience. Any doubts arising during the SP session will be clarified during the following ML session.
What is the strength of each batch/ session?
The mentor to student ratio for our coding and robotics classes for kids is 1:1 ensuring undivided attention and the best learning outcomes for your child. In the case of coding/robotics workshops for kids or other special programs, we prefer to restrict the number to less than 10.
What sessions do you offer in coding and robotics classes for kids?
Coding and robotics are vast domains. We have built multiple career-oriented foundation courses in coding and robotics like Animation and Game Design, Robot Simulation, Android App Development, 3D Modelling, Web Development, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, AI, Robotics in Logistics, Walking 3D-Printed Robots, Pick and Place robots used in industrial automation, Internet of Things like Home Automation to control devices from anywhere in the world and Drone Technology.
Will you provide a certificate after course completion?
D.I.Y.A is acclaimed for the international partnerships we hold with Industry Oriented companies from 4 countries - the UK, USA, Singapore and Malaysia. Once the robotics or coding course is completed, your child will receive an international certification from one of our International Partners based on the course completed.
Do you offer any other programs apart from coding and robotics classes for kids?
We offer international technology immersion programs for children in Grade 6 and above, giving your child an opportunity to travel overseas to the UK, USA, Singapore or Australia based on the choice of the program. From interacting with international experts for building projects and visiting a Future-Tech company, we ensure your child has a fun-tastic experience.
